South Durham

About

Joining South Durham u3a is a great way to find and develop new interests and make friends in a relaxed environment when you are no longer in full time work.

Reasons to join us:

The u3a was founded in 1973*. Currently there are 1000 plus local branches across the country with over 400,000 members. At South Durham u3a you can make the most of life and explore new ideas, skills and interests with like minded people. Further information on the National u3a site.

We are one of 47 groups in the Northumbria Region which extends from Berwick on Tweed in the north to Northallerton and Bedale in the south. It organises regular events and quarterly meetings across the region. Northumbria Regional Group website link.

We now have a reciprocal arrangement with Darlington u3a which enables our members to access some of their groups and vice versa.

* The University of the Third Age was founded in France.
