This Geordie convert took many of us further into Islam than we had ever been. When I first heard him last year in Newcastle Central Mosque, he didn’t mention the deep personal crisis which led him to convert. This time he did, and I now completely understand what drove him to take such a step and why his wife agreed.
Lightly peppered with jokes, props and ad lib questions, this talk certainly did not disappoint and several members wanted a return match.
If you ever get to visit his mosque, I can guarantee the best and largest samosas ever! He’ll certainly be an asset to his place of worship, but as a convert I suspect he may be among the more punctilious members of his congregation…
