Status:Active, open to new members

Judith
Group email: Walking Group - Friday group
When: Monthly on Fridays 9:30 am
Third Friday of each month
Venue: Linden Avenue
Friday walking group at Scorton Lakes information board

On a typical day we have about eight walkers; we meet in Linden Avenue to share cars, and go to the start of walks around thirty minutes drive away. The type of terrain and any particular challenges will have been described before people sign up. Generally we walk between seven and eight miles. Strong footwear, preferably boots, is advised as well as waterproof clothing.

Darlington is surrounded by beautiful scenery and these walks give us chance to enjoy the countryside in good company. The pace allows time to chat as we walk and perhaps stop at points of interest. Usually we have a brief refreshment stop about halfway round, and whenever possible we stop at a cafe at the end of the walk. We welcome new members.

As usual we will meet in Linden Avenue (Coniscliffe Road end) for a prompt start at 9 30a.m. Please bring a packed lunch/fruit/drink.

Members should be confident they are fit to participate and wear suitable clothing and footwear. They should carry information to be used in an emergency (ICE cards).

Full details are always announced in the Newsletter at the beginning of each month.
